I am Running for Boise County Commissioner
I am running for Boise County Commissioner. Truth and transparency—two things that are increasingly difficult to find. Politics should not just be about winning. A Commissioner should serve as the eyes …
Idaho’s skyrocketing property taxes are harming homeowners. Boise County needs a proven conservative with the vision to protect our culture and the property rights and liberties of the people.
Again, lower taxes are key but I am also not a fan of incentives that are offered to businesses which give them an advantage over existing businesses in an area.
Parents should have immediate contact with those who are making decisions that affect our children’s education and safety. I would like to see more opportunities for students to excel at their own rate; I would also support an increase in vocational training opportunities in school and would like to see more opportunities for mentorship programs sponsored by local businesses.
Life is precious from conception to the grave, and we owe it to those who cannot protect themselves to do everything we can to see they are treated as such.
The 2nd Amendment is very clearly stated in the Constitution. I support constitutional carry and our rights to defend our families, homes, and businesses from any threats. I also support the castle doctrine expansion (such as HB 444 in 2018) that is being fought for by our freedom-loving members of the legislature.
The more one is required to do for themselves, the more capable one becomes. The idea of social welfare from cradle to grave with no responsibility for one’s actions weakens our society as a whole and places an unfair burden on hard-working people who are taking responsibility for themselves and their families. I would support requirements for drug testing and training for welfare recipients. That being said there does have to be opportunities for those who truly wish to change their lives and become responsible citizens.
Truth and transparency—two things that are increasingly difficult to find. Politics should not just be about winning. A County Commissioner should serve as the eyes and ears for the people and I promise I will always do this for you. I have no agenda other than to represent my district and be a voice for liberty.
I am a pretty straight-line conservative who believes in less burdensome regulations, lower taxes, and equal economic opportunity for all businesses. Boise County is experiencing significant growth and accompanying economic challenges. Now, more than ever, we need a proven conservative with the vision to protect our culture and the rights and liberties of the people.
I am a 65-year-old mother, grandma, and great-grandma. I was born and raised in Florida and moved to Idaho in late 1993. I have built and run several small businesses the last being the Haven Hot Springs which my husband and I raised from the ashes of the 1989 Lowman complex fire. I think I was born a conservative, my mom told me my first words were “I’ll do it myself”. As you can imagine I am a born entrepreneur and I learned at an early age I can do it. I grew up hunting and fishing with my dad and am a fan of the outdoors.
I have spent the last twelve years as the Secretary for the executive committee for the Idaho Republican Party. This is an elected unpaid volunteer position and it has been an amazing experience. I have worked with at least eight party chairman and Executive directors and watched as the political process in Idaho happened. I have worked with Idahoans from all walks of life and across a wide spectrum of beliefs. I have found that I can treat them all with dignity and serve them but have never compromised my personal beliefs and values. I think these are important talents for a county commissioner. I now find myself drawn to making a difference and wish to bring my talents to the Boise County Commission.
I was educated in the public-school system and was honored to attend an experimental school for gifted students, however, I think life has taught me much more than the education system could ever teach me.
I learned a lot of lessons in life the hard way but can honestly say I think I am a good person now.
I would appreciate your vote in the May 17th primary election.
